Having featured for many years on my ever-expanding restaurants wish list, I had high expectations for restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

Venturing into 68 Hospital Road in Chelsea on a cold February evening, the greeting from Maitre d’ Jean-Claude Breton and the team was immediately warm and welcoming and got the evening off to a promising start.  With the kitchen now under the leadership of Matt Abe, highlights of the seven course tasting menu included pressed foie gras served with green apples, turnips, watercress and smoked duck, Ramsay’s signature lobster, langoustine and salmon ravioli and a deliciously decadent lemonade parfait served with honey, bergamot and a sheep’s milk yoghurt.

Accompanied by impeccable service and washed down with a perfectly paired selection of wines, it was a truly memorable evening from start to finish.
